Dell is set to launch a new "mobile workstation" laptop with a remarkable 16GB of memory and 1TB of storage.
The ultra high-spec machine will form part of Dell's Precision range, and is due to launch later this autumn according to a video trailer on the Dell website.
The 64-bit machine will accommodate up to 16GB of RAM in its four memory slots, with up to 1GB of graphics memory.
The laptop will also provide up to 1TB of storage courtesy of a dual-drive RAID configuration, and will ship with an unspecified quad-core mobile processor.
The machine is clearly being targeted at the media industry. The abundant graphics memory will allow the Precision to cope with two 30in external displays. The Precision also sports a jog-dial controller that is well suited to tasks such as video editing.
Dell is yet to announce pricing details, but we can comfortably predict that it won't be in stocking-filler territory.
